According to the CDC, teen birth rates in the United States have been steadily declining since 1991. Data indicates that the best way to reduce this is through comprehensive sex education, access to contraceptives, and access to safe abortions. Unsurprisingly, just hoping really hard that teens will stop being raging bags of hormones is remarkably ineffective.

But just because it’s on the decline doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. It’s still happening quite often, and what happens after is as varied as the people themselves. Let’s hear a few stories from some women who became moms very early in life – and how it affected them.
