There’s no denying that Instagram is an absolute phenomenon.

Long before it was bought out by Facebook for ungodly sums of money, and even a good bit before the idea that being an “influencer” was some sort of legitimately profitable endeavour, it was already the app where we’d try to show off the most mundane parts of our lives in the flashiest ways possible.

The train hasn’t really slowed down since its inception, and neither have the memes. Here are 11 reasons why Instagram, though familiar to us, is just the weirdest.
