Creating or finding good functional packaging is a challenge. The right product package must reflect the brand and appeal to customers, all while keeping an eye on convenience and safety. Some companies, like Apple and Nike, constantly research and develop innovate packaging designs they know their customers love.

Other companies either lack the creativity or enough care for the fact that packaging is a major contributor to our global trash crisis. At best, bad packaging is annoying to consumers. At worst, it costs us billions globally to dispose of it all.

From shrink-wrapped fruit to oversized cardboard boxes, scroll through these images of the times packaging is the absolute worst.
