Lately, a certain portion of society has gotten fed up with a certain older portion of society who thinks they’re entitled to literally everything they want when they want, and that they’re allowed to berate the person in front of them if they don’t get it.
You know who I’m talking about, and what specific name they tend to be labelled as online, right?
Well, people with that name (and people who resemble that name) are up in arms about being called what they consider offensive and honestly akin to a slur that should be unacceptable in polite society.
Does anyone else think the ‘Karen’ slur is woman hating and based on class prejudice?

These 25 people have some thoughts on whether or not that’s actually a thing, and they’re pretty darn amusing if nothing else.
20. I’ve got time.
And obviously I think the answer is yes.

19. Because woman hating might not look like you think it does.
It’s called American history, y’all. Maybe look into it.
Karen as a woman hating slur is bullsh^t. But let me help y’all understand what ‘woman hating’ looks like against black women. You’re welcome. No need to thank me. https://t.co/SFyZVdFFLA

18. We’re not quite sure we heard you right, that’s all.
Just making sure you heard our response loud and clear.
Did you say slur? pic.twitter.com/0pFBx7oEVN

17. And that’s the truth.
Even they don’t want to be associated with that name.

I am officially dead.

15. And I don’t see anything wrong with that.
Hope this helps.
Yes. “Karen” is intended to mock the class of the bourgeoisie as monolithic, superficial, oblivion of their privilege, and obsessed with asserting their place in the upper hierarchy of our society’s class structure. Hope this helps. pic.twitter.com/N4VfeVQkJR

We’re all going to pout for sure.

If you shout it out loud enough maybe someone will listen.

12. Accurate.
No one has any to share, I promise you that.

11. Just a little truth bomb to get us started.
Take a few sips of your latte to help this go down easier.
“Karen” was a term created *specifically by Black women* to talk about white women’s interpersonal + state violence against us and our communities: calling the police on us for getting coffee, threatening to have us fired, talking down to us at work (where we’re now “essential”).

10. It’s all pretty funny, to be honest.
Except it’s not really funny at all.
Not sure which is more hysterical, the concept of “Karen” being a slur or someone with the net worth & resources you have calling something classist.
Thanks for the laugh, Karen.
— Ari Dee ♈️ (@TheAriDee) April 5, 2020
9. Definitely just proving the point.
They don’t get the irony, so don’t bother explaining it.
Trying to claim that ‘Karen’ is a slur is the whitest white woman thing I’ve seen yet.
— Fangirl Jeanne (@fangirlJeanne) April 5, 2020
8. It’s pretty mild, all things considered.
If only you had to live as a person of color for one single day.
If being called “Karen” is a slur to you I think you’ll be okay

7. So accurate it’s painful.
It would be funny if it wasn’t so dang true.
This is every Karen. pic.twitter.com/mbFuTDkJrt

6. Where do I sign?
We should spread the name love.
petition to change karen to “julie”. definition : a woman who erases black women & woc and manipulates misogyny to evade accountability in regards to whiteness and the many forms in which it commits aggression
— Bolu Babalola (@BeeBabs) April 5, 2020
5. You keep using that word…I do not think it means what you think it means?
I’d rather think that than think they actually think it’s a slur.
A… Slur?? pic.twitter.com/kby20GPSl9

4. Seriously, just imagine.
You don’t have to because that’s the world we live in.
Imagine living in the world where entitled middle aged princesses have to be a protected class because they didn’t get their way in the store.
— cheebee kayjay’s traphouse (@KeijiKG) April 5, 2020
3. One instance when I’m not mad about the term “actually…”
There are exceptions to every rule.
Actually, it’s based on white women avoiding accountability for their racism.
— phoenix calida, the misfit black girl (@uppittynegress) April 5, 2020
2. Short, sweet, and to the point.
You can’t just call something a slur.
oh my god karen, stop.

You can’t just decide something is offensive to a large group of people when actually going through life being rude is the most offensive thing a person could do.
Sheesh.
